Quadrilles langues

Un cuerpo oral, la lengua sirve como herramienta para hablar y comer. Instrumento del deseo, la lengua también se utiliza para besar y lamer. Es este lado íntimo el que Arnaud Parel se ha esforzado por ilustrar. Durante esta época de pandemia, mostrar la lengua es un gesto provocador.

“Quadrilles langues” pone en escena cuatro lenguas que, como bailarines de ballet, interpretan El lago de los cisnes. A medida que la música se fortalece, se sumergen más profundamente en la interpretación. En su apogeo, se hinchan, enrojecen y se paran, antes de retirarse y finalmente hacer una reverencia.

An oral body, the tongue serves as a tool for speaking and eating. An instrument of desire, the tongue is also called on for kissing and licking. It is this intimate side that Arnaud Parel has strived to illustrate. During this time of a pandemic, showing one’s tongue is a provocative gesture.

“Quadrilles langues” stages four tongues which, like ballet dancers, perform Swan Lake. As the music grows in strength, they immerse themselves deeper into the performance. At its height, they swell, redden and stand upright, before withdrawing and finally taking a bow.
